Privacy Policy for Taskcribe AI

Taskcribe AI ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices for the Taskcribe AI mobile application. Our architecture is designed to prioritize user privacy by keeping task data on your local device.

We collect and process limited information to provide and improve the service:

  • Microphone & Audio Data: To provide the core speech-to-text functionality, the app requires access to your device's microphone.

    • Purpose: Voice input is converted into text tasks.

    • Processing: Audio is processed [on-device/via system APIs] and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted to our servers. Access is only triggered by your explicit interaction.

  • Local Task Data: All tasks, categories, and notes created within the app are stored exclusively in your device's local storage (e.g., SQLite/Room). We have no access to this data.

  • Firebase Analytics & Identifiers: We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data.

    • Data Collected: Device model, OS version, and basic app interaction events (e.g., "Task Created").

    • Identifiers: Persistent identifiers (like Android Advertising ID) may be collected by the Firebase SDK for analytics purposes.

    • Purpose: To monitor app performance and improve user experience.

3. Permissions Disclosure

In compliance with Google Play’s Developer Distribution Agreement, we disclose the use of the following sensitive permissions:

  • RECORD_AUDIO: This permission is used solely to capture voice for transcription. A prominent in-app disclosure is provided before this permission is requested.

  • User Content: Since your task data is stored locally, you have total control. Deleting the app or clearing app data will permanently erase all your tasks.

  • Analytics Data: Anonymized data collected by Firebase is retained according to Google's standard retention cycles.

Taskcribe AI does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under 13.
